Resource Planner

Our graphic production planner contains everything you need to plan and is the market's most versatile and flexible solution.

A production planner with everything you need to plan

Our graphic planner has different views. It can show per project, per order, per resource group, per production line or load on your resources. In our solution, a resource can be a machine or a person or a group of people. In addition, the plan can be set up to show only one department or one site. Here, the system can be set up so that the department manager can see his plan, while a production manager sees the entire plan. It is also possible to set up the plan so that a group of operators can see their activities on a large screen in the production room. The operations will have different colors depending on which phase the operation is in. Which colors you choose for the different phases can be set up as you wish. One can e.g. use Gray color for operations that are “To planning”, and blue color when the production order is added to “Planned” and green when the operator starts the job from his production terminal.

You choose which level you want to plan on. You can choose everything from minutes to years by scrolling up and down in the plan. It’s easy to click on day/week/month icons, or you can click on a day or hour at the top of the schedule. We have a display of the present that will automatically move according to time. It is also possible to move the present to another time if you want to plan ahead. The planner contains unlimited calendars. You can have a calendar for standard time, overtime, shifts or your own defined calendar. We add variable public holidays and a holiday calendar. the calendar is on each resource and operator. It is also possible to connect to the absence calendar from other systems, so that illness automatically reduces operator/resource capacity. Available time is shown in the planner with a white field, while a gray field is not available time. Calendars are always the basis for your total capacity in production.

When an order is entered for order-controlled products, a production order is automatically created, and it is placed in the production plan according to various criteria. Furthermore, you can make use of different planning strategies. Once the production order has been placed, we have many tools to optimize the production plan. All operations can be moved between resources by “drag and drop”. If you use the simulation function to re-plan, the production order’s priority, delivery date and the duration of the operation are used as parameters to create the most optimal plan. When something has changed in the plan and it has a consequence for progress, a red mark will appear on the left side of the plan. This badge will appear from the top level down to the operation in question. It is therefore quick and easy to see changes that occur in the plan, and to quickly implement measures. It is possible to search for all operations that have similar characteristics, whether it is the same raw material or there are similar operations on the same machine. If the planner sees that this is appropriate, the operation can be merged and run as one operation All routes are shown in the plan so that if an operation is moved with a start before the operation that is earlier in the route, the route will turn red and you must make a choice.

Operations in the plan can be locked and this means that you can easily mark an area in the plan and re-plan the operations that are not locked. You can choose different strategies, e.g. a flake-neck planning, or move all operations forward or backward in time to plug “holes” in the plan to utilise resources as favorably as possible. An Operation that has started will show the estimated completion time based on what the Operator estimates or based on the number reported for the operation and the time consumed. Operations where the estimated time will result in not being completed as planned will be shown in the Plan. The planner will immediately see the delay and its consequences, and will then quickly see the consequences of a machine breakdown/delay and take measures with re-planning.

The plan can also show when the raw material will arrive and be ready for production. If there is a delay, this will automatically be shown in the plan with the operation that needs the raw material being marked with a warning icon. The planner can go into the current operation and see which raw material is delayed. From this picture, he can switch to an alternative raw material, or choose to re-plan. All changes made to the plan will be automatically updated on the production terminal, so that the operator has updated driving lists at all times. We also have the opportunity to decide on which efficiency the plan should be planned. What we do know is that planning for 100% efficiency will lead to changes in the plan. You can set which level you want to plan at. Those who have a lot of “ad-hock” production and know that approx. 50% of the capacity goes to “ad-hock” production can set the plan to 50% efficiency. Then the plan can easily be replanned by setting jobs forward in time continuously according to how often you want the plan updated.

It is possible to set capacity and efficiency on the resource and operator’s calendar. If you have a machine that can only run at a certain capacity for a period of time, you enter this capacity on the resource’s calendar and the plan takes this into account. The same can be done at the operator, where you e.g. want 80% efficiency on an apprentice. We have a separate display of load where you have an overview of all resources. Here, it will show whether you have free capacity or whether there is too much load planned on a resource. Capacity and load can also be shown on each resource as a separate line. All underlying jobs have their own color, so it is easy to see which operations take up the most capacity. It is easy from this picture to put on more capacity by changing to an overtime calendar, or if you want to move one of the operations to another time. Or another resource.
